Many thanks to all the kind folks who help with the guitar inquiries. I was hoping someone might have a better handle than I on "Mighty River." I hear a pretty steady G, D, A throughout the song with some great runs. Any insights as to what else is going on here?

I love this band -- I saw them last night in Asheville. They were awesome.

I was working on Might River too -- A/G/D and hold D
you can do lead patterns around the A on 5 and 6 strings...it sounds good -- try playing over the you tube versions. I will work up some more specific tab tomorrow. peace.

I dunno guys.. I hear E, G, D, A.. Then E, G, D, then instead A, just hold the D it alternates each time through... Does that make sense? I'm not sure about the little walk down thing right before the chorus... I realize this thread is from almost a year ago, but I just joined so...

I'm having to agree with you....Em..G...D...A Second time Em...G...D....D(instead of A) I'm going to spend some time on the run downs etc.. post it when I work it out..Another beauty is the new ..Been Down This Road..if anyone needs the chords let me know...

Peace.

Anyone have chords for The Jupiter & The 119? Bueller?

Mighty River

The intro is Aadd9 - Em - Dsus2 played as a lick. It's not a G. Listen to the bass. G and Em are relative major and minor, both in the A mixolydian mode of the song, so it's easy to confuse them. But it's Em.

Aadd9 - Em - Dsus2

-0-------------7---------------------------------
-0-------------8-------5------5--------5--------
-6-------------9----------7-----7---------7------
-7-------------9------------7------7----------7--
-0-------------7----------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------

Verse is all open chords, first position Em-G-D-A Em-G-D-D

Then there's a descending line here and there:

Em - D - A - G - A | Em - D- A - G - D
---------------------------0------------------------------2--------------
--8----7------------------0---------8---7---------------3-------------------
--9----7-----9------7----6---------9---7---6--4-------2-------------------------
--------------11-----9---7------------------7---5------0--------------------
---------------------------0-----------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope that helps

I'm not sure if the chords will line up properly, but you'll get the idea listening to the song. I can't tell if he goes to the C on the 3 or the 4, or if it changes depending on the line. I watched a bunch of videos on youtube to try to figure this out, so hopefully for a simple version this will work for those interested.

That said, if anyone has an accurate chart for "Storms," I'd love to see one. I tried to use this video to figure it out, but couldn't make out what Todd is doing in the verse, in particular. Some of the other sections I could probably figure out with some trial and error, so if anyone is inclined and can figure that out it'd be much appreciated.

My pursuit of a basic arrangement for Storms finally came to fruition. I ended up contacting Andrew Altman (bass) on Twitter to ask about the verse chords because I couldn't figure out what exactly Todd was doing in that video above. Andrew actually responded, which was awesome. I used that along with the above video to figure out the rest.
