although I used the Little Feat studio version, not Bob Weir's any versions. I do know he plays it though, either with Ratdog or solo shows.

Here's what I would play and write:
Code: Select all
Easy to Slip
Little Feat original/Bob Weir

D
It's so easy to slip
D
It's so easy to fall
G D
Let your memory drift and do nothin' at all
         G
All the love that you missed
          G
And all the people that you can't recall
G D
Do they really exist at all?

Code: Select all

D G C G
Well, the whole world seems so cold today <----------this is not where I would place the chord letters for this line, I can't seem to get it where it was in the first version
                        D
And all the magic's gone away
D C G C
And our time together melts away <<<<<this line is fine
    G D
Like the sad melody I play

guitar solo
rhythm: G>D>G>D
D
It's so easy to slip
D
It's so easy to fall
G D
Let your memory drift and do nothin at all
           G
All the love that you missed
                G
And all the people that you can't recall
G D
Do they really exist at all?

so far so good. If anyone wants to use what I put up, Highlight the green text and right click, paste into Microsoft Word. Go in and delete my side comments about those two lines, print it out and you've got your sheet music for a gig.

the biggest issue I've been having with doing this from established song lyrics and chords online is that when you copy and paste, the format gets all skewed. I wish there was one font for everything. And then, one cannot overlook fun with fonts.

Code: Select all
D C(9) G C G
Well I don't want to live forever
                                 D
In the shadow of your leaving me
   D C (9) G C
So I'll light another (mellow) cigarette
      G D
And try to remember to forget
*
D
It's so easy to slip
D
It's so easy to fall
G D
Let your memory drift and do nothin at all
         G
All the love that you missed
           G
And all the people that you can't recall
G D
Do they really exist at all?
end.

please be aware that the last two green segments I posted have a scroll bar on the right of the box, and if you are copying and pasting, be sure not to miss any text due to this. Thanks

I've never seen anyone talk to themselves in a forum post.

Also, lots of players use a music stand or a telepromter or an ipad for many purposes such as helping remember words, changes etc..Especially as you get OLD!
