This is the way I've been playing it. I haven't compared extensively with versions of the song from different eras, just tried to find what sounded right to me. I brought the opening lick down an octave, to make it easier to play on an acoustic. It's a hybrid of older and newer versions of the intro.

I think the G major in the chorus may sometimes be a GM7. The D-DM7 to end the verses is a nice touch; not sure if it should be done every time. Nor am I sure that the Em in the last line of the verse should be done every time (as opposed to an E major). I've been playing it that way and like it, but don't know how accurate it is. There seems to be quite a lot of harmonic ambiguity in this tune.

The "A - A/G# - A/F# - A/E" is easier than it looks. Just keep the A chord going and drop the bass note. A/F#, e.g., is identical to an F#m7.

	CHORUS

	SOLO (on verse)

From day to day just letting it ride.
You get so far away from how it feels inside.
You can't let go cause you're afraid to fall,
But the day may come when you can't feel at all.

I play an E7 from the E before the F#m...
Instead of the Dm, a Dm7...
In the verse, on the "can't see much difference," I assume you meant an Em there (the E and Em alternate).
Nice work. I love this song.
