hello all. I run a stereo cable for my effects loop jack in guitar out to the pedals rather than using junction box. just curious as to what types of cables others are using and what are some recommendations. thanks.

Making you own is kind of fun, but if not...

Check Andrew Olson's website out. You can customize your cable.

Also,

Brian at iocustomguitars.com makes cables for junction boxes, but I'm sure he can also make you a y cable for your pedalboard.

I do the same thing...no box. just never saw the need for it. I use a premade Mogami cable that's a TRS on the guitar end and splits into 2 mono jacks at the other end for the send/receive. If I remember right, I had to modify the way the jacks were wired on the send/receive end because it wasn't built for my intended use, but once it did that it worked great. It's held up well and sounds great. It's all wrapped, neat and tidy. I've been using it for about 8 years. To use a non OBEL guitar, I just unplug the send/receive and run a patch cable in their place and it's instantly a traditional pedal board.

I wish I had this diagram when I first started making my own cables. It beats the "trial and error " approach I struggled with.

Here's my innovation, for what it's worth... I do use a box, and I've always been a huge fan of coil cords (I hate cord tangle), so I run a stereo cable up the middle of a Lava Coil cable... no more cord tangle.

I've been using Godfrey Daniels' products for over a decade during which everything I've gotten from him has performed flawlessly. http://hubbubpedal.com/about/ On his website, he lists as some current HubBub owners: Steve Kimock – National Recording Artist; Nate LaPointe – Cubensis – LA’s Premier Grateful Dead Tribute; John Reuter – The Noodles – Phoenix’s Premier Grateful Dead Tribute; Jon Silberman – TGP and really nice guy!; Scott Walker – Custom Guitar Builder; Andrew Olsen – Custom Guitar Builder

Yes, it is his products that usually don't fall in line with the standard tip=send and ring=return that have other people having to answer for his inconsistent or flat out disregard to the issue he creates when a new user gets a guitar not wired like his pedal.

If there's anyone else anywhere who's ever used a HubBub with his Jerry style axe who ever had an experience less than complete satisfaction, please tell us about it (I know of only highly satisfied customers).

Myself, I have 3 "Jerrycasters," all of which are wired using the standard wiring diagrams (one of which MW even helped me with in happier days).

My two HubBubs and related cables work perfectly with all of them.

Funny he lists Andrew Olson as a customer? I'm pretty sure Andrew makes and sells his own. I have his (AO) "The Wheel" junction box and dual cables, always worked fine.
