Has anyone done the roland GT3 kit install Jerry Style ?

Can I install the MIDI KIt with out using the signal output and DPDT for MIDI/MIX/Guitar and still have the unit work? Sould I short the mix lugs? Or does someone have a guitar already done I could get some photos of the Roland Board?
