Making Speaker Cables

For those who roll their own speaker cables, I'm curious what route you have gone.
Vendor, brand, gauge, plugs, etc..
And how were the end results?

I like the ProCo power plus 16-2 with G&H 1/4 plugs for guitar amp to extension cabs. For high wattage longer runs I use the 12-2 gauge. I am sure there is better but the proco seems really good and inexpensive. Most retailers have it available by the foot.
