I found out I need a higher powered JBL if I want to use it for bass.My question is,
Should I sell it as is or try to have it repaired? I put it in a cab and there seems to be no damage to the voice coil.
Thank you for your replies!

The dent in the cone should pose no sonic problem. There are a number of way to remedy... including a cold/hot process, a vacuum with attachment to pull it up, double stick tape. In most cases you still see a crease (especially if it's really bad)... but it's purely an aesthetic thing.

I am inclined to believe I have heard some extraneous high end from speakers whose aluminum caps I pulled out. I could easily be wrong about this, given the age hence inconsistencies etc., but I just leave the caps alone now rather than pulling them out with tape etc. I have never replaced a cap entirely, but getting an exact fit that sits on the coil could be difficult. I have several 110's, 130's, and 120's I am going to sell in coming months.
