Maybe its bc my father worked in advertising, and I also used to work on Madison Ave., but I don't understand how folks are influenced by most of this stuff. Especially unsolicited stuff, and especially on the computer. It is more likely to drive me away from a product than towards it. Alas I am a contrarian. As GKChesterton once said back in the early 1900's, "advertising is rich people begging for money". He also said something to this effect, "Times Square would be beautiful if I didn't read English".
