Hello, I am looking to buy a compressor pedal and an EQ pedal, and dont know what kind to choose. I was thinking of purchasing an MXR Dyna Comp compressor because i dont have the money for a keeley, and an MXR 108- ten band EQ. Is this a good combination to sound like Bobby? please help ill take any recommendations. Thanks!

I think that's a good start in terms of a non stadium sound. I think what CS was saying is that many of us spend lots of money acquiring all this equipment and all it does in the end is make our sound better, but not much closer to Bob or Jerry's playing ability. It just sounds like Johnnyboy, but compressed and EQ'd, rather than Bobby. But yes, Bobby used compressors and EQ in his rig, and this will give you a higher quality canvas to paint your masterpiece, or the ability to catch his tone. The point being, a Picasso would look just like a Picasso on cheap construction paper or high dollar canvas. And, Bobby would sound like bobby on a Squire through a cheap Peavey amp or on his $30K rig.
In terms of your brand choices, those are good pedals. I would look at some of the video's of some of the dudes here, and watch their bobby players. They all seem to have a style similar to Bobby in different ways, with a little of their own, which is great to shoot for. Oh, a cool article about bob and his approach is here:
