Like most here, I've blown a ton of $$ over the years on effect pedals. When I need to pay more for better quality/tone, I won't hesitate to do so, e.g., my pair of Mu-Tron Micro-Tron IVs. But when I don't need to pay more to sound good, I'm happy to go with budget pedals.

What are your bang-for-the-buck, price/performance effect pedal winners? I have 3, all under a C note "street."

(1) J.Rockett Squeegee: as a basic compressor, it's amazing what this $59 pedal (no typo!) can do. https://www.amazon.com/J-Rockett-Audio- ... 118&sr=1-4

(2) MXR Phase 95: $99.99 (w/"candy") gets you essentially 4 phase tones in one - and they're all excellent. https://www.amazon.com/MXR-M290-Effects ... s9dHJ1ZQ==

(3) Pro Co Rat 2: I still don't understand why anyone would pay a lot more for a boutique version of this pedal when the original for $79.99 is great as is. https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Co-RAT2-Dist ... C93&sr=1-4

This is one of my favorite pedals, especially for “space”. A clone of the iconic Boss Slow Gear (which go for $500-$800), it’s a cool volume swell pedal that provides violin and pedal steel-like tones.

This is a really amazing pedal, the Hotone Xtomp Mini. You can load any of a few hundred different pedals into it, including amps, preamps, and cabs, as well as many choices of distortion, boost, modulation, etc. The library of pedals, etc., is all free in an app. You load the pedal by Bluetooth with a phone. It takes about 10 seconds to load a pedal. It’s a great way to try a bunch of different pedals before purchasing the real thing. And most of the emulations sound really close to the real thing.
