Mine just came in mail today. My initial take is that it’s a big improvement over the Q-Tron+. A gig test next weekend will tell the story. Anyone else out there get one yet?

I’ll try to post a clip soon.

I really like the small stomp box size and the 9v power.

The small size is cool. The up/down is pointless. You still have to bend down to adjust. Bob Weir has on on his board now along with a Solar Flare.

I have had

Q-tron (green logo)
Micro Tron 3
The wonderlove- 3 leaf
and the Qtron plus

The closest to Jerry Ive gotten is with the Q tron plus. The micro was bright and slightly thinner sounding. Not as horn like. Its not bad and better than the Micro q tron but id say for the money get the Qtron plus.

I’ve got a Q+ and while better than the HAZ MU3, it still wasn’t quite where I wanted it. I’ve got gig next Saturday. That will be more definitive than the living room :)

The HAZ MU3 did a pretty good 70s era tone but wasn't punchy enough or responsive enough for faster runs. The Q seemed inconsistent to me, it also had the same kind of response issues I had with the HAZ MU3. I noticed none of that with my initial test of the Microtron. Maybe when I have an afternoon to screw around I'll set all three up and compare and contrast. I still haven't gigged with the Microtron so I'll wait till it's in a full band, full volume setting.

I got my first gig in with the Microtron and I was really happy with it! I'll do some more experimenting with settings as this gig was a little chaotic and I didn't really even look at how it was set. My only complaint is that the on/off and up/down buttons are really close together and my clumsy size 10 Adidas stomped on both at the same time a few times. Thankfully the reverse wah sounded great too so I just went with it. Here's a video clip from Saturday night. The video quality isn't great as it's from my phone downloaded from a live Facebook feed.

0:00-8:22 - Microtron
8:22 - talk box part - with Earth Drive
10:26 - Solar Flare
13:12 - Microtron reverse wah

Fantastic playing Tom.
Thanks TeeJay! It was a fun show! I didn't play much over the Christmas/New Year season and my first couple of gigs were a little rough. Hands getting tired, and not really that in control of my playing. I felt much better Saturday.

Yeah the passage with the solar flare was really impressive.

Thanks! That Solar Flare is a lot of fun to play with. I’ve never had a true distortion pedal that I really liked at stage volumes. That thing really sings!

One more clip from the last gig. I really like how the Microtron plays with the octave pedal. I use a Boss OC-3. It seemed no matter how I set the Q+ when I engaged the octave it would really woof-out. The Microtron stayed pretty crisp sounding to my ears.

Just got mine off the forum and gigged with it Friday night... loved it. Here's an extended jam on Catfish John... starts at the 2:30 mark - I had the gain a tad high, about 11:00 - but I was digging it! Sounded great on Feel Like a Stranger later in the night as well. Great pedal!
