Introduce Yourself First! We think of each other as being part of a community, and want to know who you are. Use this as an opportunity to honestly represent yourself and why you are here. Be Respectful of others when posting: There is a lot of leeway of what is acceptable here, but, your point should be able to be made without humiliating, hateful words, witch-hunts, ganging up, bullying, name calling, threats, or violence. (The types of things that you wouldn't find acceptable at a Dead Show.) Be Kind: a good rule of thumb when interacting on this site is to ask yourself: are you kind?
if you play alot of dead you can tell that there is a scale that alot of their songs are on. this is my favorite to play because you get the main notes when you play the lead and then you can take it somewhere different each time.
Yeah, the guys I play with, we all like to play that song because you don't play it the same way twice. I like to space out after the last verse, then go back to the "A E" jam and end it with a chorus of "Playin..."
The first time I played Bobby's melody line from China Cat during a Franklin's Tower jam, the guys I was jamming with loved it. I heard David Gans and Merle Saunders do it and I though it sounded cool. Try it sometime. We did it in a jam after the "listen to the music play" line.
