Greetings fellow heads,

I hope you are all well!

My name is Carl and I have a version of the China Cat Sunflower song I feel is THE DEFINITIVE live version. Please have a listen; I have attached the link stream below from my private collection. Here's the catch: I dont know from what live performance it is from, and Ive been looking for over 7 years. People say its from Dicks Picks #4. Although close, it still bares musical differences. If anyone can help me identify the show this is played from, I would be forever grateful. Thank you so much and enjoy the song.

A lot of people say Veneta '72.

There is no definitive version because the listening experience is subjective, and because there are so many versions of it.

One of my favorites is 12/29/77 (Dick's Picks 10). Beautiful, restrained playing and great energy.

Also: Karl Hungus? haha.

I love 5/9/79. I'm not saying it's the best, however, it's special to me in many ways. Other than 12/29/77, it's the first time played since 1974. The opening notes give me chills. The jam is different and the crowd is really into it.

btw.... the entire 2nd set is smoking. The He's Gone and Truckin' jams are sublime!

6/26/74 Providence

10/12/81 Munich

4/14/82 Glens Falls

happy Jerry day everyone.
