Howdy folks, I'm Ed. Currently live in the woods of NW Oregon, close enough to civilization to make a living and far enough away to make a lot of noise.
I grew up in Pennsylvania, mostly, and did some east coast/midwest Dead tour from '88-'92. First show was Pittsburgh 6/26/88, went from there up to Oxford Plains Speedway and decided not to get a real haircut for the next ten years. Saw a few random west coast shows until August '95, but was having more fun doing other things by that point.
Anyway, the band made me want to play, so I picked up the guitar and spent an entire week, after Alpine '89 shows, sitting in my apartment learning chords well enough to sit in with others and keep on learning. Moved to Portland in '92, had a couple quasi-bands/jam projects for a bit that practiced a lot but hardly ever gigged (could never get a good drummer to stick.) Went through a few years of not playing much guitar, but picked up a drum kit and messed around on that. Can't say I became much of a drummer, but it's helped my guitar playing a lot. I use a Mac for work (graphics,) so took advantage of Garageband and started recording around 2009. Have since upgraded to Logic, got a digital interface, better mic... and a soundcloud account (https://soundcloud.com/wabisabied). I also got a loop station, and as I told someone last week, "If it wasn't for this little pedal, I might have more friends."
I ditched city for the woods in 2013 and now I'm near the little no-stoplight town of Gaston. I got a pretty fun setup going out in the garage/tin shack. If anybody wants to come out and jam, hit me up. Nothing better than jamming outside in the summer time....
