Last night I got a text message from a friend regarding a post someone made on Reddit entitled Please help me find out some more info about my Dad!

https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldead/c ... _about_my/

His father passed away when he was 12, and he said:
Anyways, I remember waking up early most mornings to watch cartoons and seeing him on a Grateful Dead forum on the computer every morning. I’d love to read some of his posts if the account or whatever haven’t been archived - as an insight into a side of him that I didn’t get to know very well, because of how young I was when he passed. Thing is, I don’t have any idea what his username was or what the forum was.
I had to reach out, and, after he gave me some info, I found his Dad as a registered user! I guess the giveaway was "Went into a party in '78 and came out in '89""

I got a little choked up when he wrote "Thanks for the download site info -- I have scored some gems and can't stay away from my computer!!! My 12 year old son and I are battling for the computer"

I have to admit I was pretty bitter last night: I had my trip to Detroit cancelled because of the Colorado Blizzard, I was going to see the Red Wings play on a Grateful Dead tribute night, with many of my old friends. Then this story happened, and it brightened things up quite a bit.

That is a great story and a sad story. Im not sure how or in what capacity but it would be nice if there was a way to continue the relationship.
