Had a hunch it was jazz. I tried to pick it up, kids came along and that was that!! I will try again in the future. I listen to a lot of bebop style, mostly 60’s era.

Yea I checked out some YouTube clips of the 6014, has that classic Americana tone for sure. Enjoy
Yeah, I started learning the SO WHAT, ALL BLUES, then Coltrane's cut of FAVORITE THINGS and as I invested hours, days, weeks on these I found that they returned little reward. Then just shut up the mind and enjoyed the music!

Thanks man. Goal right now it to toss on an AD clip on mic and see how it sounds for an acoustic combo I'm part of! Hoping NOT to need a magnetic pickup. But that could help for a modern americana sound. Maybe blend the 2???

Learning some Charlie Christian leads note for note has provided valuable phrasing lessons to me.

Cool, I’m in Naperville so if ur playing this duo out n about lemme know!

I would think as a duo you ‘should’ be ok with just the clip on mic. If the stage became more crowded with percussion or standup bass etc, getting both and blending may prove to be beneficial with feedback, bleed etc? And the magnetic pup could help on the attack to cut threw a tad better? Just some thoughts, no concrete evidence

That's really cool Jon! Was he a natural back then? I'm sure he put in a lot work, but let's me honest, for some people guitar and music comes more natural.
Absolutely, Brian put in the work and paid his dues woodshedding but I think it's more than fair to say he had incredible natural talent, as well. Brian was in 8th grade when I was in 10th. I remember my friends and I mentioning trying to learn songs by bands like Yes and Santana and struggling mightily with them - the next day, Brian would be playing them perfectly.

Will do for sure dude!

We'll see how the experimentation goes! The goal of this outfit is quiet as can be stages.
