How 'bout sometime you do a vid on those pre-bend and release bends Jerry is fond of ? Like in Cumberland ? The E 72 version.
An exercise maybe ?
I watched some of the Cumberland vid and I'm gonna try some of the stuff tonight at home.
Thanks Terry Dude !

hmmm...an interesting request. I have the other parts prepared, which I'll probably edit and post first.

the bends take a lot of touch and intuition, not to mention sheer volume. lemme see what i can do (might have to work on it when the wife isn't home).

overall, it's a real challenge to play these licks slow and clean. hey, good luck playing, bud,

terry

hey, hey!

couple simple riffs to spice things up.

tastes great, lesh philling:

gonna look into the prebend stuff as requested.

any feedback? is this too basic and should I ramp it up? I was thinking of doing 2 part vids; the simple and advanced version of the same lesson.

lemme know what works.

thanks much,

terry

Looks cool Terry -

I've got to elaborate on that lick - 'cause i'm just like that :-)

Here's my take on the 2 parts (from the jg pov) - 1st the lead in lick then the corner turning lick leading to the A-E part

(/) Slide Up (\) Slide Down (h) Hammer On (p) Pull Off (b) Bend (r) Release (v) Vibrato

E|-------------------------------------------------------
B|-------------13----------------------------------------
G|--12h14--14------12h14--14--12--12h14--14--12--14------
D|---------------------------------------------------12--
A|-------------------------------------------------------
E|-------------------------------------------------------
http://www.guitartabcreator.com

this repeats however many times and on the last, instead of the last note (12 on the D) it goes to below

(/) Slide Up (\) Slide Down (h) Hammer On (p) Pull Off (b) Bend (r) Release (v) Vibrato

E|-----------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------------------
G|--11--9h11--11--12--9h11--11--9--9h11--11--9h11------
D|-------------------------------------------------12--
A|-----------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------
http://www.guitartabcreator.com

Instead of hammers one could do pull ups or neither.

perfect. so playing both parts would be something like this:

E|------------------------------------------------
B|5s--7--7--8---5s--7--7--5--5s--7--7--5--7--5--3-
G|-----------------------------------------------
D|5s--7--7--10--5s--7--7--5--5s--7--7--5--7--5--4-
A|------------------------------------------------
E|------------------------------------------------

give or take a few pull offs/hammer ons.

thanks, bro. scary stuff when an old guy learns new tricks.

keep 'em coming,

terry

yea that sorta works - though the turn is the key

It's the difference between the meat of the jam which I play D Dorian and the changeover back to D Mixolydian - the only difference being the F note in D Dorian and the F# in D Mixolydian.

Tonally I stick to stuff voicing the F (chord wise and lead wise - thus dorian) for most of the jam and into the first half of the above lick and then the tonal shift to the F# marks the return to the major mixolydian.

I've never bothered with bobby's part of this lick though it'd be cool if someone chimed in.
