Just for Tigerstrat

 Just for TS.

I own a pair of sticks or two and a practice pad, plus a book of snare-drum rudiments, and every so often I like to go through some of the excercises.

It's by far the best way that I've found to get my precision timing back when it starts to get a little ragged. (like right now for example) Also the Right/Left stick-alternating excercises translate really well into Index/Middle fingering for fingerstyle bass or up/down picking.

I can rock my Tama Roto-Toms!

Know many of the rudiments: single, double triple paradiddles, flams, drags...

However, a drum kit?! NO THANKS!

Point taken! Of course, all rock musicians have to be drummers in a certain respect- I myself quietly hand-drum on random objects all day long. However as Nick implies and I agree, the trap drummer is (usually) a different, more specialized animal, and I would be a little surprised to find many frequenting this board, that is almost 100% about either guitar stuff or harmonic theory. Post to the Relix site, Dead.net AND (((deadnetcentral))) ... craigslist, whatever weekly alternative paper serves your area... myspace... sorry for the ramble. On the flip side of my whole previous thought is that guitarists, bassists, etc are more likely to know a good drummer, so... there you go, excuse me, I just refuted my own argument. :D

There was no point, I was just joking around so I thought I'd start the second thread ever in the drummer forum.

Although that reminds me, I want to learn some proper conga licks to practice on my gas tank while waiting at stoplights...

I work at a big plant that brings in ingredients like milk in big tankers and there are 15-40 people in the plant (which usually is up and running 24 hours a day, minus downtime here and there for cleaning) working at machines that package half+half creamers, 1/2 pint milks, bags of vanilla soft serve ice cream for Burger King, McDonald's, Friendly's, amongst many others.

I play the 'world's smallest congas' while I'm working on half+half creamers in the Lab, testing to make sure they're fit for consumption. The other day things got REAL wacky when I taped them to my ears and gave people a solid "What?" look.

My favorite goofy moment is sticking disposable pipettes in my ears, nose, and in my mouth like walrus teeth and asking people, What Do I have something on my face?
