If you have a spool of Belden blue i'd love to grab a few meters. Don't need the plugs or anything.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU WALDO
You're Welcome!

Another word of advice, use the second conductor of the cable when making Mono Cables tied to the drain wire and used as a ground/shield. if you use both tied as one or use only one of the conductors as the TIP and if you use only the drain wire tied to the belfoil as the ground /shield the cable itself will become microphonic. When making a stereo cable the problem does not arise to a distinguishable level.

Hey Waldo, can you clarify what you’re saying? There’s 3 wires, 2 are insulated blue and clear and 1 bare wire.

Thanks

I second this question. Although you explained it (thank you), I'm less than familiar with some of the terms you used there. If Dozin is confused, i'm EXTRA confused ha! and to think I was just going to wing it.

Blue = Conductor 1
Clear = Conductor 2
Bare = Drain Wire which is connected also to the shielding they use for this cable which is foil.

If you use the BARE wire as your ONLY ground your cable will become microphonic. Use one of the conductors as your line(tip) and the other one as your ground but also tie the BARE drain wire to the ground for shielding. Which conductor color used is irrelevant as long as you use the same thing on the other side of the cable.

Blue = Tip

Clear+Bare = Sleeve/Ground

That’s what I thought you meant. I usually tie the clear and bare wire to the tip and the blue to the ring.

I use blue to tip, and clear and bare to ring. Isn’t this the preferred/ultimately correct method? This way the ground provides the shield.
