I believe the key of A works well with Row Jimmy but i also believe the key of D works aswell due to the Bmin and Gmaj chords in the songs progression

The verses are in D, the refrains are in A. The coda at the end starts in D and then the final part of the song is in A. (The parts with D, A G and Bmin are in D. The parts with A, E and D are in A.)

It is my opinion that Row Jimmy is maybe my personal fave of all the Dead's tunes. Just had to share that. Coming out of a solo and Jerry hits you with "Broken heart don't feel so bad..." come on now, how can that be topped?
