I was wondering what yooz guyz use for recording at home:

I want the simplest(while retaining quality recording) recording method out there. I'd like to mic a cab- send it to a mixer, and have 4 or more tracks to work with. So,, what do you guys use?

I was thinking a mixer to a CD-r?? Im a noob on recording:(

Well, it sounds like you want to record straight inti a computer? This is a different setup but very good nontheless and much more flexible. I use a Zoom H2 recorder (Google it). It's perfect for solo recordings, band rehearsal or gig recording and it's high end enough to record big shows. Check it out. You can use 2 or 4 of the mics that are built in, and even get 5.1 surround recordings. $200. Got mine from Sam Ash.

Good luck,

Gil

Cubase as the software and Tascam as the hardware...

You could always use a computer and get an audio interface - either USB or firewire. There are several fairly inexpensive ones out there. M-Audio makes some really decent ones. Then there's lots of options for software to use - with as many tracks and bells & whistles that you could possibly want.
