This may seem weird but I'm enjoying my cheap ass charvel acoustic more and more. I'm wondering if I play out with people if I'm gonna need a pickup installed. And...if I do...then what do you guys recommend?
Its really not a good guitar but its my jamming banging around and best feeling guitar.
Its not a high dollar solid spruce top with Brazilian rosewood etc.
Its just a beater...but it is easy to play and chord and sing along with

So what do you recommend that will make it sound as good as possible and be convenient to use

Are you looking to permanently mount a pickup system in the guitar,or just a quickie sound hole style pickup? Also, be aware that once you mic an acoustic and start turning up you usually run into feedback pretty quickly.

I was planning to install permanently and avoid feedback as much as possible.
I really don't care about sounding "just like an acoustic" or relaying the guitars original tone but being clear and loud and able to cut through a mix and not lose notes anywhere on the range
