One measure for each line (All the years combine | They melt into a dream | A broken angel sings | From a guitar), even though musically it's not necessarily one measure.

I don't think this is quite right. The first measure sounds right (there might be an octave problem), the second measure sounds okay up until the C#>D hammer on ("dr-eam"). The third measure sounds okay except maybe the Bb ("sings"). The last measure sounds good. I have a pretty bad ear, and if anyone could help me figure out what it is that'd be great.

The studio version is probably best for this, although I did find a nice Steve Kimock version where he plays the vocal part on slide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2c9JPohB7g

here's me singing this a couple of weeks ago - I think I'm in the 'melody ballpark' at a minimum but this one ain't easy for me - hell, none of 'em are easy for me!

I inexplicably forget to sing the "stella blue...stella blue" at the end of a verse - I think cuz I screwed the pooch on the little riff leading up to it - I think it threw me off my game! It's kinda a law that we play this one!

I'll try and compare what I'm doing to your tab for shits and giggles.
