High,I just finished changing The Key of the song to E, and when i got to the Chourus i noticed that the D actually is E.
For example you have:
C#m B A D B A D B A
Dont cry now, dont you cry, dont you cry anymore...
:Where the D is should be an E. It sounds exact.Remember this is after i did the switch to the key of E.
Other than that I love this site and visit it frequently.
Thank you,
Just Wonder...

yup, that's the right way to play Bird Song alright. Nice job, BOD.
C#m______B_____A___B___E____A____B___E______A
Dont cry now, dont you cry, dont you cry anymore...

Are you sure you don't mean
C#m______B_____A___E___B____A____E___B______A
Dont cry now, dont you cry, dont you cry anymore...
I'm pretty sure that that is right for the key of E
....And although I did not explicitly state that a D = E in the transcription from D to E, A) I think that's understood (since you're changing the key from D to E) and B) I did state that D7 = E7.
I don't see where the tab as posted is incorrect.

yes, ebick is correct. for anyone interested, here are the chords...
E7 D E7
All I know is something like a bird within her sang,
E7 D E7
All I know she sang a little while and then flew off,
C G G D D A E7
Tell me all that you know, I'll show you snow and rain.
If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why?
Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passin' by,
Laugh in the sunshine, sing, cry in the dark, fly through the night.
(SN Bass) F#^G# A A# B
C#m B A E B A E B A E
Don't cry now, don't you cry, don't you cry anymore, la-da-da-da.
(SN Bass) F#^G# A A# B
C#m B A E B A E B A E E7
Sleep in the stars, don't you cry, dry your eyes on the wind, la-da-da-da-da.
All I know is something like a bird within her sang,
All I know she sang a little while and then flew off,
Tell me all that you know, I'll show you snow and rain.

uh... yes
that's defintely what I meant. And that's what I get for posting chords w/o a guitar in hand.
fwiw I have a slightly different take on the chords backing the verse turnaround (guitar in hand):
E7 D / / Bm7 E / /
resurrecting an old thread ....

Hi all ... My keyboardist is trying to get some input as to what you other keys guys are playing during the triplet climax of Bird Song just before coming back into "Don't cry ...". We've been building towards a more modern finish like 08/21/93 (Sat) Autzen Stadium - Eugene, OR

Anything you can throw my way would be appreciated!!
