Does anybody have a tab of bob's rhythm riff throughout the song? Thanks in advance :-)

J Darks has the Bobby riff is accurately as I have seen it tabbed. Go to the part that says Basic Bob in the third line of tab.

Dark Star is a great tune to really work Bobby style rhythms as you can work up and down the fret board with double stops on the B and G string or the B and D string and drone the open A.

I just messed around a bit with what I do here and came up with these shapes. Nice and full for one guitar.

--A--G--G6
e-0--3--3---
b-2--0--3----
g-2--0--0----
d-2--0--2---
a-0--x--x---
E----3--3---

Dark Star is a tricky song for just one guitar. IMHO anyway.

this is one of my favorites. The chord set up is the majors of D, being A, G, and D.

the main idea:
Amajor (slight play on minor) G, D, G.

I'm at work so I'll give you what I can now and some more variations later.

main chordal lick:

A G D G
E---5----5-----------
B---5----5-----------
G---5h6--6--4-4-7-7--
D---7-------5-5-5-4--
A-0------------------
e--------------------

I have to go I'll give variations and the chorus later.

anyways, to the Em part of the verse

Em Em7 A Asus2

E------0--0---0-0-----
B------3--0h2-2-0---------
G------0--2---2-2------
D-2-2--2--2-----------
A-2-2-----0---------------
e-0-0----------------------

chorus (*=repeat/strum)

E-5--10-***---5-5-
B-5--10-***-7-5-5-
G-6--9--***-7-6-6-
D-7--7--***-7-7-7-
A-0---------------
e-----------------

E----------------------
B----------------------
G-4-4-4-2-0---7----7-7-
D-2-4-5-4-2-7-7h10-7-7-
A-4-5-7-5-4-7----------
e----------------------

E-5--10-***---5-5-
B-5--10-***-7-5-5-
G-6--9--***-7-6-6-
D-7--7--***-7-7-7-
A-0---------------
e-----------------

E---------------------------------------------
B-5-7-8-7-5-----------------------------------
G---------------------------------------------
D-5-7-9-7-5--7-7--7-----(7 harmonized through)
A-4---7---4--5-4--7-9-8-7---------------------
e---------------------------------------------

those are the basics behind bobbys licks, it's easier to think of it in D while playing the chords.

the scales change during the verse as you switch between the Amajor and the Eminor

If you would like different variations let me know
