So I just took delivery of my first custom built guitar.
I picked Ryan Martin and his "Magic Wands" because I have been a fan of Becker guitars and wanted Jerry flavor and a original look.
Becker guitars broke apart last year, Ryan was the primary builder and designer of the guitars at Becker and when they broke up he took his designs and is a one man shop now in NH.
Well I went with a neck through hippie sandwich of curly walnut and curly maple neck and core.
Lollar High winds and neck and bridge and super ii in the middle with the new wald tpc2 buffer and switch to go between preamp and non buffered. I used the CAE duel volume pot so I have correct pots for 500/25k.
Spent 10 hours at his shop while he did the last work. Putting the pickguard and coil cuts was a process to say the least. It's funny I think he subconsciously channel Jerry Cripe in his pickup plate choice. It took me a few hours to figure out why the plate looked so familiar.
