Putting a 1969/70 Twin Reverb into a head cab. It will have a Black face plate.
I can't decide if I want black tolex or natural wood, so I'm looking for opinions. Thanks

Jim, my vote would go to wood also. It looks awesome both ways: beat up/road worn (hard truckers) or nice and pretty perfect.

You can do a google images search if you need to compare. I prefer the natural wood. I have a pro reverb silver face in a natural finished head with 4 coats of semi-gloss poly.

Thanks for the input, guys! Very much appreciated! My first choice is always natural wood finish as well. Just wasn't sure this time
So, natural wood finish it will be

Sweet "Captain Trips" vibe, NQL!

I'm looking at this one so all I have to do is finish it and put on the hardware: http://www.ebay.com/itm/rawcabs-Twin-re ... NqAd57G4Ww

I could cut down the original cab. Strip it. Sand it. Make a new back panel and front panel and the try to find someone to dovetail join a bottom on it, but that's a lot more work/time that I'd much rather spend playing!

That's what I did - had someone else do it !
I went w/ flat black paint
Looks alright w/ the silver face
Good luck

That is an option. I was doing the pricing to have it done too and either way I'd have to pay about the same, all totaled. The new dovetail joints might be tighter since they haven't been stressed for 47 yrs. Depends on that and who I want to give the money to

PaulJay wrote:Hey Jim, this is a cab kit I bought from a guy on e-bay. You just have to let him know you want it to dual showman reverb specs, he will do it for no extra charge. It is easy to assemble yourself and is finger jointed. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200 ... =824&kw=lg.
Thanks for the link, PaulJay! Looks like it will either be that or this http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200 ... =824&kw=lg
