I'm not so sure that's even the best Alpine Valley China>Rider! Check the 1987 edition: http://www.archive.org/details/gd87-06- ... sbeok.shnf

But my all-time favorite 80's China > Rider (by a light year): Glens Falls, New York 4/14/82: http://www.archive.org/details/gd1982-0 ... eok.flac16 - the jam goes to breathtaking spaces, just miraculous!

I love the transitions they had in '74 (i.e. Providence 6/26), but love the vigor/vocal exuberance/energy of a 12/29/77. If I recall the Alpine show (DVD release) also has a ripping rider! So many killer versions of China-Rider in so many different ways!

The UJB from Morgantown WV in '83 is my favorite. Great intro! The 87 Alpine China Rider was badass too.
