There are going to be some changes coming up that may affect the rukind.com domain name in the next few days. My trusty ole data-center my wife calls our laundry room is going to be shut down (finally).

I have to make changes to the DNS servers so that they are no longer hosted by me, and this will take some time to flush through the big ole internet. I am going to leave my servers up for a bit longer, but eventually they will be turned off.

So, rukind.com and rukind.org will still go to the same place, but while this transition is occurring, and if you catch it while my server down, rukind.com may seem unavailable, but its due to the fact that your DNS servers have not been informed of the changes.

I am going to shut down the server this weekend, to test the impact of the DNS change. I think that the change has propigated out to most servers, but you never know until you try. None of this will affect www.rukind.org.

If you want to test if your DNS server has sucked up the new settings you can do the following:

1> if you go to: http://www.rukind.com and the URL stays on www.rukind.com (doesn't move to rukind.org) you'll know you've got the new servers.

2> if you can go to http://bickslicks.rukind.com then you have the new servers. If #1 doesn't work, #2 may kickstart the DNS servers in your world to change.

and if #2 DOESN"T kickstart..etc.?

Since the last post was from 2006 I think it worked.
