Was driving home from work today, when out of the corner of my eye I saw the glimmer of an aluminum dust cap...

Pulled over and saw these sitting on the sidewalk with a sign that simply said "TRABAJAR"

I loaded them up, dropped one of em on my foot too, heavy son of a bitch.

I havent had time to open them up and look inside but I think they may be D130s...

For sure. When I picked em up I thought they would be worthless save for the speakers. I couldnt have been more wrong. My plan now is restore the cabinets and hang on to them until I have space for a home stereo

Very well done!

My first stereo was 12" JBLs with bullet tweeters powere by a Mac 240 tube amp and C 11 preamp. The sound was loud and clear, a mini version of the WOS.

too bad I sold it to spend two weeks in Germany back in '78.

Let me know if these pics dont work

The good news:

The speakers look to be in really good condition and the interior of the cabs are pretty clean and pristine. Still havent figured out how to remove the grill cloth. It seems like it should slide out from the bottom but havent figure it out yet.

The bad news:

On both cabs, there is damage to the bottom where one of the legs should screw in. Also the cabinets themselves will need a bit more TLC than I anticipated:

Damn I knew i shoulda paid attention in Spanish class

Beuatiful old JBL's. Good eye man, I would have walked right by them with my head in the stars llol.

They are worth hundreds still even if their blown almost. I always feel bad for the guy who put them out, he's probably a cook at the greasy spoon down the street who wanted those behemoths outta his tiny garage apt.!

Yeah but if you kept them you wouldn't have the memory of that stubborn case of the clap you caught in Stutgart !
