Run a Sarno SMS into a cab sim or IR's & go direct

Postby strumminsix » Tue Aug 02, 2016 9:28 am

Thinking of redoing parts of my rig. Weight and portability and hearing are all huge concern now.

One strategy I'm playing around with is getting all my sound in front of me and using my IEM's and stage mixer again. But see zero reason to ditch my SMS as it's the sweetest preamp I've owned.

That said, has anyone run their SMS into maybe an IR pedal or something like the ADA:

I run my SMS Revelation pre-amp into a tube power amp and then into a Palmer Cab Sim & then a Palmer load box. Sounds awesome! You could also try one of these instead of a power amp/cab sim/load box as it does all 3. These are supposed to be amazing: http://www.two-notes.com/en/hardware/to ... index.html

Thanks man! Not looking for a load box of any kind. Looking to ditch the cab and use monitors up in front. But it's great to know that it sounds great!!

I don't want to spend this kind of money, but this looks absolutely idea: http://www.two-notes.com/en/hardware/to ... index.html
Set it: 6L6, 421 mic, JBL speakers, presence setting

But that's a hefty cost right there...
