What scale to play over the Co7 chord?

What scale to play over the Co7 chord?

I've read there are two types of diminished scales: the whole-step/half-step (or auxiliary diminished) and the half-step/whole-step (or auxiliary diminished dominant).
When you play "Tennessee Jed," do you use one of these scales or do you just play the Co7's chord tones: C Eb Gb A?

I try to do what Jerry does. Here's two close ups. They helped me immensely figure out what he's doing there.
